Three Yuma Catholic Shamrock teammates will suit up for OUAZ football next season.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Three Yuma Catholic Shamrocks are headed up to Phoenix to play football at Ottawa University Arizona.

Gustavo De Los Reyes, Isaiah Marquez and Noah Perez (not pictured) all signed to continue their academic and football careers for the Spirit. De Los Reyes believe their is a lot of similarities in the values OUAZ has with Yuma Catholic.

"I believe in the coaches and I believe in the program just like YC," De Los Reyes said. "They work hard. They play hard and they and they keep grinding."

De Los Reyes and Perez played in the trenches on the offensive and defensive lines. Marquez was third in receiving yards for the Shamrocks last season with 447 yards and four touchdowns.

"It's been a dream come true to go play college ball, and it's just exciting," Marquez said.

The trio believes that heading up to OUAZ together will make the transition to the college game easier.

"It'll be good knowing that I got two of my guys going with me," Marquez said.

OUAZ also allows the boys to stay to home with the school being located in Surprise, Arizona.

"My parents never missed a game in my football career," De Los Reyes said. "I really hope they don't miss any this year, but it feels good to stay home."

Ottawa competes in the NAIA.
