Central dominates Mission Bay 3-0, advances to CIF D3 Championship Game

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Central Spartans are headed to the CIF Division 3 San Diego Section Title Game after a dominant 3-0 victory over Mission Bay in the semifinals at Cal Jones Field.

The Spartans struck first midway through the first half when Joseph Rosas delivered a perfect assist to Santi German, who slotted the ball past the keeper for a 1-0 lead. Central continued to apply pressure, but Mission Bay’s Axcel Palacios came up with a crucial block to keep the game close.

Later in the first half, Central’s offense remained relentless. Mishel Villanueva extended the lead to 2-0, capitalizing on a rebound during a chaotic scramble near the net. The Spartans nearly added more as Angel Sandoval fired a powerful shot, but Mission Bay goalkeeper Zeke Passmore made an incredible save.

On the defensive end, Central’s Gavin Lillegard stood tall, shutting out the Buccaneers and securing the clean sheet. With their 3-0 win, the Spartans advance to the CIF Division 3 championship game, where they will host Orange Glen on Friday.
