Yuma Catholic ranked the 16th most dominant football program in Arizona over the last decade

Shamrocks won two state titles and reached the title game in three other years since 2013

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - After a solid ten-year run, there was some deserved recognition headed towards the Yuma Catholic football program this past week.

High school sports outlet, MaxPreps, came out with a Top 20 ranking of the most dominant football programs in Arizona over the last decade - and the Shamrocks landed at No. 16.

The program of course has lit up the record books in several individual and team categories during that span - most recently coming from quarterback Richard Stallworth who was crowned the state's all-time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns.

The program also has sent countless athletes off to play at the next level.

Rhett Stallworth and company have put out quite the resume - being a perennial state title contender year in and year out. The Rocks won the Division V state championship in both 2013 and 2014, followed by three recent trips to the 3 state title games in 2018, 2020 and 2021.

The methodology behind the rankings were listed as a point system determined by a mix of Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps national computer rankings, Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps state computer rankings - along with state championships and state title appearances.
