Sidewinders bounce Antelope in prep tennis

Sidewinders get strong performances from top singles Derick Aquirre and Christian Garcia in team's 7-2 win

SAN LUIS, Ariz ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - The San Luis boys tennis team got back in the win column on Monday afternoon with a 7-2 win over Antelope at San Luis High school.

Sidewinder number one single Derick Aguirre defeated Antelope's Jaiden Jupiter in straight sets 6-1 & 6-1. In the number two singles match, San Luis' Christian Garcia cruised past Antelope's Johnathan Reed 6-0 & 6-0. Both pairs also squared off in doubles play with Aguirre and Garcia earning teh 8-1 victory.

Other notables from Monday's match, in number three singles, San Luis' Kevin Ceballos earned a hard fought victory over Israel Ruiz, 7-6 & 7-6. Edgar Vargas earned a three set victory over Antelope's Ethan Holiday 5-7, 6-3 & 10-6.

As a team, San Luis improves to 5-6 on the season and next host Maricopa this afternoon in San Luis at 3:30pm.
