Honoring our Seniors: Cibola’s softball star, Kelly Katalbas

Kelly Katalbas

With the COVID- 19 pandemic canceling spring prep sports we want to honor and celebrate our senior student-athletes who will not get to play one last final season.

Today we honor senior softball star, Kelly Katalbas.
Coach Baumann shared with 13 Sports:

“Kelly is a great student/athlete who excels on the pitching mound. Throughout her high school career, she has been our number one pitcher. She has tons of pitches in her arsenal and is very coach-able and has improved each and every year. But, above all, she is a great teammate. Kelly will truly be missed in our Cibola softball program on and off the field.”

-Coach Shelly Baumann

Katalbas was Rotary Player of the Year her junior year and was sporting a 1.32 era.

Her senior year she had 56 strikeouts. The Raiders were 8-5 in the season before it was cut short due to the pandemic.

Kelly will attend Arizona Western college and pursue a career in physical therapy. Congrats, Kelly! We wish you nothing, but the best.
