Freshman guard Illiam Fevry delivered one of the standout performances of the night, finishing a perfect seven-for-seven from the field, including two threes, on his way to a team-high 17 points off the bench. His energy sparked an AWC second unit that combined for more than half of the team’s scoring.

Forward Boubacar Diatta added 13 points, knocking down three triples of his own, while Marsai Mason chipped in 11 points and steady guard play across 19 minutes.

In the starting lineup, big man Engel Gutierrez continued his strong season posting 12 points and nine rebounds while shooting four-for-eight from the floor. Paora Winitana added a near double-double with 10 points, eight boards, and six assists in an all-around showcase.

Arizona Western shot 53.5% from the field, 42% from three, and dominated the rebounding battle creating second-chance opportunities and controlling the pace throughout all 40 minutes.

The Matadors led by 22 at halftime and never looked back, outscoring Community Christian again in the second half behind strong transition play and defensive pressure.

With the win, AWC moves to 7-2, keeping their early-season momentum alive as they gear up for conference play. They return to action later this week looking to build on one of their most complete performances of the year.
