ASU just outside top 10 in AP preseason poll
The Sun Devils are sitting 11 in the AP Top 25 college football preseason poll after a run in the College Football Playoff.
TEMPE, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - College football is right around the corner, and in the first edition of the AP Top 25 poll, Arizona State ranks 11, their highest starting spot since 1998 and their first appearance in the poll since 2021.
The Sun Devil's position makes them the top-ranked program in the Big 12, ahead of both Kansas State at 17 and Iowa State at 22.
ASU is returning most of their starters, including Heisman hopeful quarterback Sam Leavitt. With him at the helm, their expectations are high, as they expect another playoff run.
The Sun Devils open their season against Northern Arizona University on August 30.
