Arizona rallies late, win two games in a row to advance to first CWS since 2021

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (KYMA, KECY) - After being blown out 18-2 in game one, the Arizona Wildcats won two games in a row in Chapel Hill to stun No. 5 North Carolina in the Chapel Hill Super Regional best-of-three series.

The Wildcats advance to their first trip to Omaha since 2021 and first under Chip Hale. As a program, it marks Arizona's 19th appearance in the College World Series. 

Trailing by two runs heading into the eighth inning, the Wildcats rallied for three runs in the top of the inning, then hung on for a 4-3 win.

Arizona will play Coastal Carolina in the College World Series opener. Game dates and times are TBD.
