AWC softball sweeps Western Nebraska

AWC takes down Western Nebraska and both games of a double-header.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Western College Lady Matadors defeated the Western Nebraska Community College 7-1 and 8-7 in a double header on Monday.

AWC moves to 14-8. Western Nebraska falls to 7-11.

In game two, AWC came back from a 6-3 deficit to get the victory. This snaps three game losing streak for the Lady Matadors. With another three game series on the horizon this weekend, AWC hopes to bring their offense to another level.

"I think it was a good day for us in defense too, but I think we're bad can be more great than that," freshman Lea Frechette said. "I think this week we should put our bat more in front of it. I think we can have 4 dubs this weekend."

AWC is back in action on Friday against Central Arizona.
