The Wildcats led by 10 points twice in the contest and let Arizona State battle back both times.
Arizona State led 35-31 late in the fourth quarter when Arizona strip sacked QB Trenton Bourguet to get the ball back. DJ Williams later scored from six yards out with 3:17 left to play.
Arizona State had one last chance after stopping the Wildcats on fourth down, but Bourguet threw an interception into the hands of a diving Isaiah Taylor to clinch the final outcome. The heated rivalry ended with an on field tussle between the two rivals.
