After AD hired, West Virginia gives Brown another chance

West Virginia is giving football coach Neal Brown another chance. The school said Wednesday that Brown will keep his job, for now, although no specific timetable was set. The Mountaineers won two of their final three games to finish 5-7 season, the second time they failed to become bowl eligible under the fourth-year coach. The decision was announced hours after West Virginia named North Texas athletic director Wren Baker to the same position with the Mountaineers. He replaces Shane Lyons, who was fired earlier this month. Baker was given a six-year contract that will pay him $1.1 million annually, plus incentives. Baker will start on Dec. 19.
