WASHINGTON (AP) — Alex Ovechkin and T.J. Oshie both had a goal and an assist to help the Washington Capitals beat the Calgary Flames 3-0. Oshie scored on a one-timer for his third goal of the season. Washington’s Evgeny Kuznetsov made it 2-0. And Ovechkin’s power-play goal means he is 11 away from passing Gordie Howe for second place on the NHL’s all-time goals list. Darcy Kuemper stopped 32 shots for his second shutout of the season. Calgary’s Jacob Markstrom had 22 saves.
