PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Jake Dickert’s first full season as Washington State’s football coach gets underway Saturday when the Cougars host Idaho. His goal is to stabilize a program that’s seen plenty of turmoil over the past five years. Dickert had never been a head coach until he was asked to take over when Nick Rolovich was fired last season for failing to comply with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for state employees. Dickert had been the Cougars’ defensive coordinator until then.
