Moore takes individual IVL Championship in girls golf

BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. (KYMA) - Palo Verde junior Racie Moore claimed the individual championship at the Imperial Valley League girls golf tournament at Rams Hill Golf Club in Borrego Springs.

Moore shot a 46 over nine holes to secure the title, representing the Yellow Jackets as their lone competitor in the tournament.

After dedicating her summer to improving her game, Moore saw her hard work pay off with a championship performance.

“It feels really good,” Moore said. "I dedicated my summer to absolutely grinding and like becoming the best I can be, and I really did think it paid off. Coach was like, 'Okay, you got this.' He was pumping me up and [I thought] we [had] a chance. So it was a dream come true for sure.”

Moore becomes the fifth girl in Palo Verde golf history to win the individual championship.

She will look to carry that momentum into the CIF Championship at Pala Mesa Golf Course in Fallbrook on Nov. 2.
