Arizona Western fall programs continue nationally ranked seasons

KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Arizona Western College continues to dominate the NJCAA fall sports season, with women’s soccer, men’s soccer and women’s volleyball all earning spots in the national top 20 as the regular season approaches its conclusion.

The Matadors have maintained a presence in the national rankings throughout the season, and this week was no different as all three programs secured ACCAC championships with victories over Eastern Arizona.

The Arizona Western women’s soccer team holds the No. 1 ranking heading into the final week of regular-season competition. The Matadors are coming off a 2-1 victory over Eastern Arizona, a team they previously tied earlier this season.

The men’s soccer team is ranked No. 5 nationally following an 8-0 win over Nelson University and a tie against No. 16 Eastern Arizona on Saturday.

Meanwhile, women’s volleyball climbed two spots to No. 12 after earning back-to-back 3-1 victories over Eastern Arizona during the weekend.

With all three programs securing ACCAC championships, Arizona Western continues to establish itself as one of the premier junior college athletic programs in the country as the fall regular season winds down.
