Vikings and Eagles earn Thursday night football victories

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA) - The Holtville Vikings dominated the Central Spartans 50-7, using early mistakes by Central to build a commanding lead in their first league game of the season.

Holtville jumped out to a 23-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, earning a decisive victory.

The Spartans fall to 5-3 overall and 0-2 in league play, while the Vikings continued their strong stretch, outscoring opponents 174-7 over their last three games.

Meanwhile, the Southwest Eagles earned their third win of the season with a 14-3 victory over the Somerton Toros.

Southwest scored 14 points early before its defense carried the team to victory. The loss dropped Somerton to 1-6 on the season.

The Toros will travel to Gila Ridge next week, while Southwest heads to Mountain Empire.
