Newly established Freedom FC partners with Phoenix Rising

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Freedom FC is partnering with United Soccer League club Phoenix Rising to expand opportunities for youth soccer players across Yuma County, creating a new pathway for local athletes to access higher levels of competition and development.

The collaboration between Freedom FC and Phoenix Rising will bring scouting opportunities, coaching resources and financial support to the region while helping reduce costs for families. According to Freedom FC, the partnership is designed to make year-round soccer more accessible for players throughout Yuma County.

As part of the initiative, local athletes will have the chance to learn from Phoenix Rising coaches and players, who will travel to Yuma County throughout the year to provide training and development opportunities. Organizers say the program will offer instruction from some of Arizona’s top soccer professionals while creating a clearer pathway for players looking to advance in the sport.

To gather community input, Freedom FC founder Gary Snyder is hosting a meeting at La Bodega 23 in San Luis on Monday, Aug. 10. League leaders, coaches, parents and players are invited to attend, ask questions and provide feedback on what they would like to see from the new league.

Because the program is launching as a pilot initiative, Freedom FC officials say it will have the flexibility to evolve based on community needs. The organization plans to test new ideas and make adjustments as it works to build a model that best serves Yuma County’s soccer community.

Registration for the new program opens Wednesday. Freedom FC also announced that the first 50 players who register will have their Phoenix Rising development membership fees sponsored by the club, providing an additional incentive for families interested in joining the program.

Organizers hope the partnership will strengthen youth soccer in Yuma County by increasing access to high-level coaching, expanding scouting opportunities and creating a more affordable development pathway for local players.
