2026 Prep Football Summer Series: Imperial Tigers

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Imperial showed plenty of talent in the regular season last year - enough to get them to a 9-2 record. However, they fell short once again in the Imperial Valley League Championship, losing 54-24 to Holtville.

This season, they bring back plenty of starters who are entering their junior year including running back Deren Hueso and quarterback Santonio Urena. Head coach David Shaw expects both to have another terrific season behind what he believes to be a strong offensive line.

"We had a great season last year, but the kids feel like that they have something to prove still," Shaw said. "They want to win that league title and move on in the playoffs and hopefully get to a CIF title."
