Yuma United FC hosts press conference ahead of 2026 season

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Yuma United FC outlined its plans for the 2026 season during a press conference this past Friday, marking the club’s transition into a semi-professional team. The organization will compete in the United Premier Soccer League, aiming to earn promotion to the Premier Division and eventually face national-level competition.

As part of its preparations, the club announced open tryouts scheduled for May 30 and May 31, with participation open to players ages 16 and older.

Head coach Luis Rojas highlighted the level of talent in the region.

“I've been coaching high school for many years," he said. "Kofa, San Luis, Cibola have represented the the Yuma County at the biggest stage, and we're confident that the talent hasn't gone away. Uniting the talent in the county can definitely give us big results, and we're confident that we can do that.”

Club owner Blas Gasca also shared his vision for the team’s future

“I wanna put Yuma on the soccer map and make something big for my city - for our city,” he stated.

In addition to building its roster, the club is offering season passes that include merchandise discounts and access to potential team events for fans.
