Yaxel Lendeborg and the Wolverines returned to Ann Arbor with the NCAA Championship trophy

Lendeborg helped lead Michigan to their first title in 37 years

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (KYMA) - Michigan returned home as national champions, and Yaxel Lendeborg made sure to share the moment with the fans who helped fuel the run.

The Wolverines were welcomed back to the Junge Family Champions Center following their 69-63 win over UConn in the national championship game Monday night, standing in front of a crowd of maize and blue celebrating the program's latest title.

Lendeborg, a former Arizona Western standout, addressed the crowd during the celebration and reflected on the journey.

"You made this season very special for me," he told the fans.

Michigan capped its championship run with a hard-fought victory over the Huskies, closing out the season at the top of men’s college basketball.

Lendeborg played a key role throughout the year, emerging as one of the team's top contributors. He led the Wolverines in scoring at 15 points per game and averaged seven rebounds, helping anchor the team on both ends of the floor during its title run.

With the trophy back in Ann Arbor, the celebration marked both the end of a championship season and a moment of appreciation between the team and its supporters.
