Derwin Welsh named MVP of tournament, USA junior hockey falls to Finland

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Yuma Catholic Shamrocks defeated the Cibola Raiders 53-43 to take home the first-ever "Battle on the Border" basketball tournament championship.

The Shamrocks were led by guard Darwin Welsh who took home the MVP Award for the tournament.

The USA fell to Finland 4-3 in overtime in the quarterfinals of the world junior tournament. They were defending back-to-back titles.
