Tiger Woods turns 50, now eligible for senior tour

Joe Toth / Masters Tournament

(CNN, KYMA) - Golf champion Tiger Woods is celebrating his 50th birthday Tuesday and that means he is now eligible to compete on the PGA Tour Champions Circuit.

At age 50, Woods can look back on 29 years of professional golf and 683 weeks as the world's number one golfer.

He also has logged 82 PGA tour wins and 15 major championships. However, Woods hasn't publicly talked about his future plans.

If he does play the senior PGA tour, he will be allowed to use a cart and enjoy a 54-hole format at most tournaments outside of the 72-hole majors.
