Arizona Western women’s soccer drops Region Final for first loss of the season

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Lady Matadors hosted Cochise College in the Region 1 Final and fell 1-0.

AWC had plenty of opportunities in this one but, ultimately, was unable to find the back of the net. The team tallied 11 shots on goal in the contest.

Stephanie Vazquez scored the only goal of the game in the 77th minute.

Coming into the game, Arizona Western had two wins under its belt against Cochise this season with a 2-1 win on the road and a 5-0 win at home.

Even with the loss, the Lady Matadors have a great chance to get an at-large bid to the national tournament.
