Central beats Calexico three sets to one in volleyball contest

The Bulldogs traveled north to take on the Spartans but fell short in the battle.

EL CENTRO, Calif. - (KYMA, KECY) - Central took down Calexico three sets to one on Thursday, August 14 in Girls Prep Volleyball.

The Lady Spartans took the first set, 25-17, with a run in the middle that put them up big for sometime. The Bulldogs were able to close the gap, but it didn't matter as Central was able to run away with the win.

Calexico was able to take the second set which went the distance, ending in a 26-24 shoot out.

Following that close set, Central won the next two, 25-12 and 25-21.

The Spartans start their season strong undefeated while the Bulldogs remain winless.

Centrals next game is at home against Clairemont on August 18, while Calexico will travel to Imperial August 19.
