Gila Ridge softball can’t wake up bats in 3-0 loss to Mountain Ridge

A good start in the circle wasn't enough for the Hawks to get a win at home

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Gila Ridge softball (1-1) lost 3-0 to Mountain Ridge (2-2) at home on Tuesday afternoon.

Despite a solid performance from senior pitcher Malina Patterson, the Hawks struggled to get anything going offensively.

One of Gila Ridge's best chances to score came in the bottom of the fourth.

Following a walk from junior Alexis Figueroa, senior Lilyana Price would come up with a sacrifice bunt to advance Figueroa to second.

However, with two outs, junior Violet Silva would strike out to end the inning.

The Hawks will have to bounce back quickly, as they'll head on the road Wednesday for the West Valley Invitational Tournament in Tolleson, Ariz.
