PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll has been named National League player of the week.

Carroll is coming off a five-game stretch where he batted for a .500 average while also hitting three home runs and eight RBI's.

The rookie also posted an OPS of 1.633 and stole three bases in that same stretch.

Carroll is continuing what has maybe been an All-Star level campaign at the plate, hitting for an average of .308 along with 13 home runs and 33 RBI's entering Monday.

Fans are beginning to notice Carroll's performance as well.

On Monday, the first set of results for All-Star balloting were released.

Carroll had the fifth most votes for NL outfielders at 232,565 votes.

That number still lies well behind the fourth place player, San Diego's Juan Soto, who sits at 339,009 votes.

To earn his way via the fan vote, Carroll will need to be among the top five in votes by the end of phase one of voting, which ends on June 22 at 9:00 a.m.

Whichever outfielder leads voting at the end of phase one is automatically given a starting spot, while the rest of the top five will move on to phase two.

After that, the remaining top two vote-getters will earn the other two starting spots.

Phase two begins on June 26.
