YC baseball wins again

Shamrocks win 10th straight to close out regular season

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Catholic baseball has hit it's stride at the right time.

The Shamrocks have won 9 consecutive games going into their regular season finale against the Odyssey Institute Minotaurs on Friday afternoon.

YC ace hurler Issac Araiza would pitch a gem, securing 7 shutout innings and delivering 16 strikeouts in the Shamrocks 2-0 victory.

Araiza would help his own cause in the bottom of the 1st, laying down an RBI single, allowing teammate Juan Lugo to score the game's 1st run from 3rd base.

Yuma Catholic has won 10 straight games to close out the regular season, sitting with a #3 ranking amongst all teams in the AIA 3A Division.

YC now awaits their seeding fate in the upcoming 3A state tournament.
