Raiders take game 1

Cibola baseball tops San Luis in high scoring contest

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Both the Cibola Raiders and San Luis Sidewinders baseball programs are trying to clinch a spot in the upcoming 6A state playoffs with only a handful of games remaining in the regular season.

Both teams would begin a 3-game series on Thursday afternoon in San Luis.

And there would be plenty of fireworks in the 1st game.

The Raiders would get to Sidewinders starting pitcher Ernesto Vizcarra in the top of the 1st, scoring 3 runs to build an early lead.

Both offenses would generate close to 30 runs combined, as the Raiders go on to get the 17-11 shoot-out victory.

Cibola Senior Aydon Guzman would lead his team with 5 hits and 4 RBI's in the win.

Both teams will meet again at Cibola on Monday afternoon.
