Imperial Valley baseball update

Southwest and Holtville survive to play at least one more game

YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - On saturday the Southwest EC Eagles kept their prep baseball season alive with a win over Mt. Carmel 6-1 in El Centro. The Eagles now head back on the road on Tuesday to face top seed Christian. It's do or die scenario for Southwest. The Eagles fell to the top seeded Patriots 7-3 last week. A loss for Southwest in the double elimination Division III playoffs would end the Eagles season.

The same is on the line for the Holtville Vikings. Holtville survived a slugfest on Saturday against the Morse Tiger. The Vikings advanced with a 12-10 win and now face top seed West Hills for the second time. The Vikings fell to West Hills last week 18-0, the game got away from the Vikings early and they decided to rest most of their top arms in anticipation they'd meet the Wolf Pack again.
