CBS 13 Sports: Wildcats and Sun Devils host regionals

The Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils softball teams earn bids to host softball regionals

YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - The Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils softball teams both earned two of the top 16 seeds in the 2021 college World Series tournament. Arizona received the #11 seed and will host the Tuscon region starting on Friday. The Wildcats will start the double elimination regional versus UMBC on Friday. Villanova and Ole Miss are also in the region. Arizona State nabbed the 15 seed and will host the Tempe region. The Sun Devils start on Thursday versus Southern Illinois. Virginia Tech and BYU are also in the Tempe region.
