Criminals baseball edges Cibola

May 5th, 2021

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Criminals baseball program was looking for a solid finish to what has been an "up and down" season.

On Wednesday night, the Crims came through in a 6-5 victory over Cibola.

Trailing by 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th, Yuma went on an offensive tirade, scoring 6 runs off of Raiders starting pitcher Andrugh Yee.

Even though Cibola would rally to close the gap down to a single run, the Crims would prevail by that slim margin.

Yuma freshman starting pitcher Damian Cabrera threw 5 complete innings with 5 strikeouts in the victory.

Cabrera also did work with his bat, securing 2 RBI's for the Criminals.

Fellow freshman Edgar Castro nabbed his 2nd save of the season as the Crims finish the season at 6-12.

Meanwhile, the Raiders loss closes their final record at 7-12.
