Tough late season loss for Kofa baseball

May 3rd, 2021

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - The Kofa baseball team has taken it's lumps this season.

Sitting at 2-12 overall and last place in the 6A Desert Southwest Section, the Crimson and White have 3 games remaining on the regular season schedule in hopes to finishing the Spring on a stronger note.

Taking on Westwood at home on Monday afternoon, they would find themselves in a low-scoring battle.

J.J. Ortiz got the start for the Kings, giving up 4 earned runs in 6 innings of work.

Unfortunately, he didn't get enough offensive support as the Kings took the 4-1 loss.

Kofa will finish out the season on Tuesday and Wednesday against the Gila Ridge Hawks.
