AWC men’s basketball coach Charles Harral resigns

Harral ranks third all-time in the Matador men's program for wins with 216 over 10 seasons

YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - On Wednesday, After 10 seasons and 216 wins, AWC men's basketball coach Charles Harral announced he was resigning according to a press released published by the AWC sports department.

According to the AWC press release...

“Charles has been an integral part of not only our basketball program but our athletic department as a whole,” said Athletic Director Jerry Smith. “Charles is a tremendous leader, teacher, and person and I know he’s going to have continued success moving forward.”
Under Harral, Arizona Western has appeared in the Region I Championship game eight times, winning the Region four times with one District Championship resulting in a 2019 trip to Hutchinson for the NJCAA National Tournament. The Matadors averaged 21 wins per season, always finished with a winning record, and made the playoffs every year that Harral was in Yuma

A press conference is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday on the AWC campus to provide more information.
