Holiday hot streak!

Gila Ridge girls basketball secures 3rd consecutive win.

Molly Fain scores 2nd quarter basket.

After the Gila Ridge girls basketball team recently lost it's section opener, the Hawks have put together 2 straight wins; including a road win over Kofa earlier this week.

Now, that they are on the verge of going into the holiday break with even more momentum; they would play host to the Washington Rams on Friday night.

In the first half, it would be a tight start for Ridge.

Even though the Hawks would build a 9-point lead in the 1st quarter, the Rams would get back into it in the 2nd, and slim Ridge's lead to a mere 2 points at the half.

The Hawks would gradually pull away in the 3rd and 4th quarters to come away with the 47-36 victory.

Senior Maddie Fain led all Hawks scorers with 16 points and 3 rebounds, while Molly Sims came away with 12 points and 5 boards.

The Hawks will resume their season after Christmas, as they're set to play in the Lady Titan Winter Hoops Classic on December 27th.
