Arizona Western Men’s soccer team making major moves

NJCAA tournament bound

YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT, KYMA) The Matadors Men's soccer team has won several conference and region titles, but this season they have made it past the titles and have guaranteed themselves a spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association tournament as the number seven seed. 

The tournament begins on November 18, but the Mats are on the road this weekend to prepare for the big showdown.

The Mats will face number two seeded, Louisburg and number 11 seed, Illinois Central.

All games will be played at the Pat Hartley Soccer Complex in Tyler, Texas. The pool play games will be held Monday through Wednesday on turf fields with Pool B playing at 12:30 pm (CT).

Louisburg will play Illinois Central on Monday.

The Matadors open the tournament on Tuesday against Illinois Central at 12:30 pm and will conclude pool play against Louisburg on Wednesday at 12:30 pm (CT).

The winners of the four groups will advance to the semifinals on Friday afternoon with the Championship taking place Saturday, November 23 at 6:00 pm.
