Imperial Valley native makes it to the big stage

Mexicali native and Brawley raised DJ mixed beats that led him on a road to the big stage and being a part of some of the biggest moments in NFL history.

At 20 years old, Hector Beltran, better known as DJ Dynamiq and formerly DJ Hectik, began his career as a local DJ in the Valley. He started by playing for local bars, like 'My Buddy's Place' and family parties. He even played a few sets at bars and clubs in Downtown Yuma.

Ten years later, he is a respected DJ in the bay area and San Diego. Not only does he play in the hottest clubs, but he is also an in-game DJ for the San Francisco 49ers.

In his three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, he experienced one of the biggest moments in sports history: When Colin Kaepernick decided to take a knee during the national anthem in protest of racial inequality. In this interview, he shares his experience and gives advice to those looking to break in.

He credits some of his success to DJ Freddy Da Rebel who connected him to the right people and gave him an opportunity to flourish.

Dynamiq is part of the AMP Squad, an elite team of talented bay area DJ's under DJ E-Rock, a bay area DJ.

Dynamiq said he is appreciative of the opportunity to be the only DJ in the AMP squad representing the Imperial Valley.
