Two Dolly Parton songs make top 40 for the first time following her passing

(CNN, KYMA) - Two Dolly Parton recordings have cracked the Top 40 of Billboard's Hot 100 for the first time ever in the wake of her passing.

Two iconic songs she wrote back in 1974 are making a big comeback.

The beloved entertainer's iconic song "Jolene" re-entered the chart at number 16, and her recording of "I Will Always Love You" debuted at number 27.

Whitney Houston's cover of that song hit number one for 14 weeks in the early nineties.

There are three other Parton songs that re-entered the Top 100 since her death on August 25.

Those include "9 to 5" and "Islands in the Stream" back on the chart at numbers 18 and 26 respectively.
