Tim Curry, ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and ‘Clue’ actor, dies at 80

(NBC, KYMA) - Iconic actor Tim Curry has died.

Curry is perhaps best known for his memorable role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the cult classic film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

Others may know him as Wadsworth in the movie adaptation of the board game "Clue," or as Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the 1990 TV movie version of Stephen King's "It."

Curry also starred in films such as "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," "National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1," "Congo," "Muppet Treasure Island," "Charlie's Angels," and "Scary Movie 2."

In all, Curry compiled an impressive resume appearing in 243 works, after beginning his career on stage in London in the musical "Hair."

Curry's cause of death has not yet been announced, but he did suffer a stroke in 2012 that left him partially paralyzed.

Curry was 80-years-old.
