Oscars confirm dates for 99th and 100th ceremonies

(CNN, KYMA) - The next couple of years for the Academy Awards are going to historic, and the organization is preparing.

Next year marks the 99th year of the iconic Oscar awards, with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences setting a date of March 14, 2027 for the telecast.

It's also looking ahead to its centennial show, celebrating 100 years, which will happen on March 5, 2028, and it will mark the last time it airs on ABC before moving to streaming only on YouTube.

2028 will also be the last year the ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre as it will move to the Peacock Theater in 2029.
