Catherine O’Hara, ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Beetlejuice’ actress, dies at 71
(NBC, KYMA) - Catherine O'Hara has passed away.
O'Hara became one of the best comedic actors her generation starring in films such as "Home Alone" and "Best in Show" and "Beetlejuice," and on award-winning television shows like "Schitt's Creek."
Her manager confirmed her passing to NBC News Friday afternoon, but did not specify a cause of death.
O'Hara got her start on the landmark Canadian sketch comedy show, "Second City Television" (SCTV).
O'Hara won an Emmy in 2020 for her portrayal of Moira Rose on "Schitt's Creek" alongside the show's producers, Eugene and Dan Levy.
O'Hara was 71-years-old.
According to a statement from her representatives at CAA, she is survived by her husband, two sons, and her six siblings.
There will be a private celebration of life held by the family.
