Matthew McConaughey secures trademarks for his likeness and voice

(CBS, KYMA) - Matthew McConaughey is going pretty far to stop artificial intelligence (AI) from using him without permission.

The Wall Street Journal reports the Oscar winner has secured trademarks for his likeness and voice. They include audio of McConaughey saying "Alright, alright, alright" from his breakout movie, "Dazed and Confused."

He told the Journal, "My team and I want to know that when my voice or likeness is ever used, it's because I approved and signed off on it."

"We want to create a clear perimeter around ownership, with consent and attribution the norm in an AI world," he added.
