GoFundMe created for actor Mickey Rourke to help him avoid eviction
(CNN, KYMA) - Oscar-nominated actor Mickey Rourke is evidently facing eviction from his Los Angeles home, and an online fundraiser has been created for the 73-year-old.
The GoFundMe aims to raise $100,000 for Rourke's housing expenses, and it has raised nearly $74,000 so far.
A complaint filed in California last month alleged the Hollywood star owed nearly $60,000 in unpaid rent.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the GoFundMe is organized by one of Rourke's friends from his management team and Rourke gave his "full permission" for the crowd funding.
Rourke rose to fame in 1980s, starring in films like "Diner," "Angel Heart," "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man," and "Sin City."
In 2008, he won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his lead role in the film "The Wrestler."
