Nelly Furtado announces she’s no longer performing

(CNN, KYMA) - Fans of singer Nelly Furtado are in bit of a shock as the 46-year-old posted to social media saying she's taking a break from performing, and it's unclear if she will ever perform again.

She said she plans to pursue other creative outlets but did not reveal her plans.

Furtado released "Seven," her latest studio album, last year. It was her first studio album in seven years.

The "I'm Like a Bird" singer went on tour this summer, but now, she's had a change of heart and will stop performing for now.
