Film and TV productions in Hollywood down

(NBC, KYMA) - According to a new quarterly report, filming numbers are down again, but there are signs of hope Hollywood is beginning to recover from a years-long slump.

FilmLA reports overall filming days in the L.A. region were down again in the third quarter of this year compared to 2024.

However, movie shoots were up 10%. 22% of film and 9% of TV productions were linked to the new tax incentives.

FilmLA says the tax incentives are giving the industry a badly needed boost that will still take many months to fully materialize.

It says it expects another surge in production when the next round of credits are distributed to feature films next year.
