Darth Vader’s lightsaber sold for more than $3 million at auction

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Darth Vader's lightsaber, used in two of the original "Star Wars" films, has sold at auction for $3.6 million.

Prop Store Auction says it's a new record as the highest auction price for a Star Wars item, which took place last week.

The lightsaber was used in 1980's "The Empire Strikes Back" and 1983's "Return of the Jedi."

Also in the entertainment-themed auction, the bullwhip, belt, and holster Harrison Ford used in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" went for nearly half-a-million dollars.
