CBS Mornings announce nominees for MTV’s Video Music Awards

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - CBS Mornings exclusively revealed some of the nominations for next month's MTV's Video Music Awards (VMA) Tuesday.

The nominees for "Best Pop Artist" are Ariana Grande, Charli xcx, Justin Bieber, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McRae.

"Sabrina Carpenter [is who I actually think] will take home the VMA. I mean, last year...it was all about 'Espresso.' So, I think she might take it home," said Dometi Pongo, an MTV correspondent.

Nominees in the first-ever "Best County are as follows:

  • Chris Stapleton - "Think I'm In Love With You."
  • Cody Johnson with Carrie Underwood - "I'm Gonna Love You"
  • Jelly Roll - "Liar"
  • Lainey Wilson - "4x4xU"
  • Megan Moroney - "Am I Okay?"
  • Morgan Wallen - "Smile"

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards is taking place Sunday, September 7, live on CBS and MTV, and streaming on Paramount+.
