Ellen Pompeo, “Grey’s Anatomy” star, receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Actress and producer Ellen Pompeo is the latest star to be honored on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Pompeo received the 2,809th star in a ceremony Tuesday in Los Angeles.
"So, it's taken a long time for me to get my star on the Walk of Fame, but the truth is, I have been surrounded by stars my entire career, this doesn't happen overnight and it doesn't happen easily, it takes a village. This is a million miles from where I ever thought I would be and I've learned how to be here, how to stand here, how to enjoy all of this, because of the people in my life."

The award-winning actress is best known for her portrayal of Meredith Grey on the hit ABC series, "Grey's Anatomy," now in its 21st season. She is also the show's executive producer.
Steve Nissen served as emcee during the ceremony while Shonda Rhimes, the show's creator, and Debbie Allen, Pompeo's co-star and co-executive producer, served as guest speakers.
Pompeo's star is located on 6533 Hollywood Boulevard.
