Morgan Wallen wins country music’s Album of the Year

(KYMA, KECY) - Country singer Morgan Wallen took home one of the top prizes at the academy of Country Music Awards, despite being previously banned for using a racial slur.

Wallen won the Album of the Year award Monday night for Dangerous: The Double Album.

This was a year after the institution removed his name from the ballot after he was caught on video making an racist comment.

Wallen thanked his family and friends for their support.
