CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy (NBC, KYMA) - U.S. rapper Flavor Flav hit the streets of Cortina on Sunday, making his first Winter Olympics appearance.

Best known as one of the founding members of the hip-hop group Public Enemy, Flav is in Italy for his new role, the official hype man for the USA Bobsleigh and Skeleton team.

He took on the same role in Paris, where he promoted Team USA's Water Polo team.

"Being over there in Paris, it was a lot warmer, here is a lot colder...Bobsled Skeleton team, and it's just such an honor," Flav expressed.

The 66-year-old rapper, whose legal name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with Public Enemy.

He prepared for his appearance at Cortina's Eugenio Monti Sliding Centre by taking part in Bobsleigh and Skeleton runs in Park City, Utah before he came to Italy.

In 2024, Flav made an undisclosed financial donation to the Women's Water Program as part of a five-year agreement. In addition, he agreed to collaborate on social media to help highlight to the sport.

He has been seen at track at every session since he arrived earlier this week to hype up the USA team.
