Elegido el quinto presidente de la Nación Navajo

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. (T3/AP) - Funcionarios de la Nación Navajo han pedido que todas las banderas de la vasta reserva ondeen a media asta para honrar al ex presidente tribal Kelsey Begaye.

Dicen que Begaye murió de causas naturales el viernes en Flagstaff a los 70 años.

Fue elegido quinto presidente de la Nación Navajo en noviembre de 1998 y sirvió de 1999 a 2003. A Begaye le sobreviven su esposa, Marie, y cinco hijos.

Su hijo mayor murió en 2014. Los servicios funerarios de Begaye están pendientes.
